Two types of data we handle

• Visitor data (you browsing this site): we track no individual people. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate traffic numbers only — no cookies, no fingerprints, no personal data.
• Subscriber data (you as a subscriber): your email address and the list of companies you asked us to watch (up to 5 on the free tier). That's the whole list.

As a visitor to this site

• No personal data about visitors is collected or stored
• No information such as cookies is stored in your browser
• No information about visitors is sold or shared with advertising companies
• Aggregate traffic stats come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which by their own documentation does not collect or use visitors' personal data

As a subscriber

Our guiding principle: collect only what we need, and use it only to provide the service you signed up for. An email address is required to subscribe — that's so we can send you the alerts and so you can unsubscribe from them later. There is nothing else to sign up for, and no other purpose for your address. Subscribing is voluntary: everything on this site except the email alerts works without any personal data.

Legal basis for processing (GDPR / PIPL)

We process your email under your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a); PIPL Art. 13), which you can withdraw at any time with effect for the future.

Subprocessors

• Cloudflare (US): website hosting and traffic analytics
• Email delivery provider (to be announced): sending your change-alert emails. When we pick one, we will list it here — before the first alert is ever sent.

These are the only services that touch subscriber data.

International data transfers

Your email is stored on servers outside China, and our processors operate outside the EU/UK as well. For subscribers in China: under PIPL Art. 39 we separately disclose the overseas recipients, purpose, data categories and how to exercise your rights — that is what the extra checkbox on the signup form is for. The volume falls under the exemption in China's 2024 cross-border provisions (Art. 5), but we still ask for your separate consent. For EU/UK visitors: the transfer is based on your explicit consent (GDPR Art. 49(1)(a)); ask us for a copy of whatever gets transferred.

Retention of data

We keep your email for as long as your subscription is active. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted automatically after 14 days. When you unsubscribe, your address comes off the sending list right away — we keep only the address and the date, for 24 months, so we don't email you again by accident. Want it erased sooner? Ask, and we'll filter you out manually.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent at any time (one click, immediate)
• Restrict or object to processing
• Lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority — UK: the ICO; China: the CAC or your local internet authority

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected] or use the unsubscribe link in any alert email. We reply within 14 days.

Data licensing

The registry records republished on this site come from official registries under their own open-data licences (for UK data: the Open Government Licence v3.0 — "Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0."). Licensing terms for other registries are listed on our About page. This privacy policy covers your email address; the company records themselves are public data.
